It’s Sunday afternoon and altough Vegas was possible for a brief second, the definitive verdict on the trip for me is a no. I don’t have the money, I don’t want to borrow the money. (I’m trying to save money so to go negative just to go to Vegas is out, no matter how soon I’d be able to pay it back after the fact.) That’s okay, I’ll find something to do and hope my boyfriend has a great time in Viva Las Vegas!
Today is a lazy day, and we’ve spent time this weekend trying to find something spontaneous but inexpensive to do, only to find that that’s not the most possible thing in Boca Raton or anywhere in South Florida for that matter. (If any of you know of any really great places for spontaneous combustion, er, I mean activities, please leave a comment!)
Yesterday, we went to the a lunch place we’ve never been to before which didn’t turn out to be so inexpensive, but the food was good, so we’ll cut out the tiny (but tasty) appetizer next time and definitely go back. After that, we went to the mall where my boyfriend bought me two shirts that were on sale (Sales = GREAT ways to save money), two shirts that would have otherwise cost $50 instead cost $30, so that was a great deal.
Finally, last evening, we went to this nice local “park” and sat and had coffee and people and dog-watched. Sitting down to a cup of coffee and good conversation in a public place is a good way to save money as well. People-watching is free entertainment — especially in a place like Boca– and if you’re lucky, you’ll find a place where you can sit and enjoy entertainment such as concerts or Art events for free as well. (This park often has concerts that many come to listen to for free in the park — basically, seats with a view of the show cost and general admission to listen but not see is free).
Today, we went to Sunday breakfast (at 2pm) and then went to grab breakfast stuff for the week at Whole Foods. It costs as much as boxes of cereal, lasts as long, and is MUCH healthier (no preservatives, all-natural). We just got back from getting cat litter (For those of you who have a Petco around, get their cat litter. The pebbles are smaller and it holds in the smell much better and longer than your everyday store or national brands do — trust me, this I know because we had to switch to a national brand due to running out of the Petco brand and P-U was it bad!) and now we’re going to finish watching George and the Dragon, then return it and grab dinner.
See you tomorrow with more entertaining adventures and thoughts to report on!
