Some of you will ask “Why would you just give tickets away instead of sell them?”

Well, when I was a young girl, I dreamed of going to a New Kids show for years and years and years, but never got the chance. I have spent some time over the last 15 years thinking “Wow, I’m never going to see the New Kids perform in my life. That’s just not even cool!” So when I heard they were going on tour last fall, I couldn’t believe my dream would finally come true! My sister flew in from Indiana and we got fairly nose-bleedy seats, but loved every minute of the show. It was truly phenomenal and I wouldn’t trade the experience for the world. Now, I’ve been quite lucky and for this tour stop, I happen to have found 2nd row floor seats (omg!!!) and because of my good fortune, I truly want to make someone else’s dream come true by giving my two 15th row Floor tickets to a true die-hard old school NKOTB fan.

So that being said, the two 15th row tickets will go to the best video response I get to this video before Sunday, March 8, 2009, at 11:59pm. Winner will be announced Monday, March 9, 2009.

Rules:

1. You must be at least 25 years old and an old school NKOTB fan.
*Why 25? I want this to be a dream come true for an old school fan, like my sister and I are. :) (We used to watch the Hangin’ Tough Live VHS every day for lunch while eating ravioli, and then we’d try to do the flips over each other’s backs — never successful, but it sure was fun!)

2. You must be able to make it to the show Thursday, March 12, 2009, in Estero, Florida, (near Ft. Myers) at 730pm. That’s in a week and a half.

I wish you the best of luck and I truly can’t wait to hear all your crazy stories and see the antics in action!!

Food for Thought

The Economic Stimulus payment the government gave everyone cost the government $150 billion dollars and gave each of us $600.

Now, the Bailout is $700 Billion, over 4 1/2 times the Economic Stimulus Payment, and this will be passed along to the taxpayers, meaning taxes WE are going to have to pay.  That breaks down to $2700 out of our pockets in taxes average per person.

So right, who is this bailing out?  Not the people who are already losing houses and jobs right and left, and not the people who truly need it most.

So You Think You Can Dance – Top 6 Review
July 31, 2008 | Filed in: mission chronicles

Alright people, we’re down to the big cut tonight!!

Who’s going home?  I have no freaking clue.  All 6 are completely wonderful to me, and I can only venture the tiniest guess at who might not make it into the Final 4.

As much as it pains me to say, I think Courtney is going to be out.  Chelsie and Katee are so incredibly strong and have just about never had a weak dance this season.

As for the guys, I call Mark Kanemura as out.  I adore Mark and would actually love to see a Marksie reunion in the finale, but Twitch has such a fan following, and Joshua, to me, is just a shoe-in.

Who do I want to win?  Chelsie Hightower

Who’ll win?  Joshua Allen.  The man is a genius dancer (I still think he’s had more training than we know, and that Pasa Doble last night sealed the deal.

Will I be disappointed with the winner this season?  At this point, nope.  Not like last year.  Any of the 6 deserve it. :D

Enjoy the show! :)

So You Think You Can Dance – Top 6 – Reaction *spoilers for the DVR crowd*
July 26, 2008 | Filed in: mission chronicles

Comfort finally went home, and I’m not surprised or saddened, since it was time and Courtney’s still in. :)

However, I AM just as surprised as one Mark Kanemura when finding out that he is still in the competition (I want to yell with joy, but something is not letting me!) and Will Wingfield, by far the most talented dancer on the show this season overall (specifically, in technical skill and versatility) is out.  My theory is simply that Will has the Danny complex — he is more quiet and introspective.  He takes everything in and doesn’t really come out of his shell as crazily (and enjoyably) as Twitch, Joshua, and Mark do.  Because of this, maybe people didn’t get to know him as well.

And how about Twitch’s reaction to being in the bottom??

All I know is that it’s going to be an interesting week next week!!

My call for the Final 4:

Twitch Boss, Joshua Allen, Katee Shean, & Chelsie Hightower

Who do I want to win?
Hell, they all deserve it!  But I want Chelsie or Josh to win.

Who will win:

Joshua Allen will be America’s Favorite Dancer :)

So You Think You Can Dance – The Top 8 – Review and Predictions
July 25, 2008 | Filed in: mission chronicles

Last night’s SYTYCD was off the hook.  Yes, I miss Kherington, and yes, I still think Comfort should have gone, but I still thoroughly enjoyed last night’s show.  The first 6 dances were crazy, some a bit crazier than others, and I was just thrilled with Mia Michael’s routine with Twitch Boss & Katee Shean.  My favorites of the night:

1.  Twitch & Katee’s Contemporary routine – Say WHAT!  That was a KISS, no peck, no kiss, a KISSSSSSS.  And the passion in this routine was just insane.  (Thank you Mia Michaels, you really are a genius!)

2.  Will Wingfield’s solo – Officially the most entertaining solo I’ve ever seen someone do on the show.

3.  Comfort Fedoke & Mark Kanemura’s Hip Hop routine – hard hitting, funky, fun.  Thoroughly enjoyable to watch.

4.  Chelsie Hightower & Joshua Allen – These two are just fun together and I always love watching them dance.  I hope both make the Final 4.  (And her legs are to die for!  My sister and I both want Chelsie to win.  Who knew she’d been to Blackpool several years?  Impressive!)
I still call Mark & Comfort to go home tonight.

So You Think You Can Dance – The Top 8 – Predictions
July 23, 2008 | Filed in: mission chronicles

Tonight is the first Kherington-less SYTYCD and I must admit I’m pretty sad.  It’s going to be hard to watch Comfort dance since I do think Kherington deserves to be there more.  But yes, I know, I know.  Favorite, not best.  I was talking to my boyfriend and neighbor and both agree, Twitchington was a marketing tactic and without Twitch, she kind of just fell apart.  In the Dance industry, you need to be able to partner with anyone and have chemistry from the get-go, or fake it well, at the very least.  She simply didn’t work with Mark, and Mark didn’t shine with her either.  I can’t figure out whose fault it is, if anyone’s, but I must admit I’m worried Mark will be going home this week, and it’s a shame as he is my favorite male dancer of the bunch and I just want to see him do so much more dancing on the show.

The one thing I am upset most about is I know it’s got to be tough for Kherington at this point.  Had Jessica stayed in the competition, I am almost positive Kherington would have stayed another week, but since Comfort had already been eliminated once, then came back and did NOT get eliminated last week, there has to be some hard feelings.  I’d have some, for sure.

On a sidenote, this year’s bunch also seems a lot more close-knit than last year’s, from what I’ve noticed specifically in the reactions when people get cut.

Tonight should be interesting, and my prediction for who will go home this week:
Twitch or Mark  (I think Josh & Will have sealed themselves for Final 4 status)
Comfort Fedoke  (It’s just time for this to happen)

So You Think You Can Dance – The Top 8 – SAY WHAT – spoiler alert
July 18, 2008 | Filed in: mission chronicles

So I think last night’s SYTYCD was crap.  Comfort should not have stayed (as much as I do like her) and geez people, Kherington had one bad night, and *THWACK*, you give her the axe??  I mean, no offense to Comfort, but do you really want to see the same solo over and over again, and the same weak dancing compared to the others?  I love Comfort, she’s adorable, but she’s simply not as strong as the others.  It is her time to go.

Of course, then we hear the words of Nigel.  “This is America’s FAVORITE dancer, not America’s BEST dancer.”

Bah.  I’m disgruntled now.  My boyfriend is now protesting SYTYCD (thanks voters!) since Kherington got voted off (so ridiculous) and this will make it much more difficult and much less fun to watch.
I did call it right for Gev to go home, and think the top 2 guys will be Joshua and Will and the top 2 girls, Chelsie and Katee.  Yes, I know, all but 4 of them are going home sometime soon, and even then, there can be only 1 winner.  (GO JOSHUA or CHELSIE!)

So You Think You Can Dance – The Top 10 – Review and Spoilers
July 17, 2008 | Filed in: mission chronicles

So You Think You Can Dance always seems to have a great mix of hits and misses.  Last night was definitely no different.  From the (awful) Country Two-Step by Mark Kanemura and Kherington Payne to the heavy-footed Smooth Waltz by Twitch Boss and Comfort Fedoke, I definitely got my share of cringing in.  However, I feel there were definitely more bright spots in the night.  Some highlights:

1.  What great routines by Joshua Allen & Courtney Galiano!  And what an unlikely pair!  I love these two doing Latin Ballroom of any kind, and the characters portrayed in their first dance a la Dr. Frankenstein were just fun.

2.  Will Wingfield and Katee Shean were great together.  As my sister said, they’re great together because they are both on the same level technically.  The boat dance was just silly and fun, and the par-de-deux was beautiful.  Will stole the show there!

3.  Chelsie Hightower and Gev Manoukian (I find it interesting that he got paired with someone his own height again — conveniently?) were great, but Chelsie is just a heartbreaker and such a beautiful, believable, emotional dancer.  I do expect to see her on Broadway sometime shortly after the tour.

4.  Twitch Boss and Comfort Fedoke doing what they do best with Hip Hop and killing it.  It was so refreshing to see them do what they’re strongest at and together for that matter, especially after watching Twitch be so off and on the last 2 times (he really does NOT wear ballroom well.  Sorry Twitch!!) and Comfort be eliminated and brought back.  (I have a feeling she’ll go home tonight, but at least she went out with a bang!)

Who’s in the Bottom 3:

Guys:  Twitch, Mark, and Gev

Girls:  Comfort, Kherington, and Courtney

Who’s going home tonight?

Comfort and Gev
